Oct. 16, 2018 -- Wichita State professor David McDonald and graduate assistant Alisha Prince are trying to change the world, one mouth at a time. The team is teaming up with Ocean Spray to research synergistic properties contained in cranberries and other natural extracts that will, in theory, stop the decay of teeth and provide an alternative to traditional oral health care.

Oct. 10, 2018 - WSU Tech's Dental Assistant program has moved to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry building at Wichita State.

Oct. 5, 2018 -- Retired Lt. Colonel Larry Burks is the new director of Military and Veteran Services at Wichita State University.

Oct. 2, 2018 -- Wichita State University has been awarded $813,000 to boost enrollment and retention of students under-represented in science, technology, engineering and math. The funds are part of a larger $3 million, five-year National Science Foundation grant awarded to Kansas State University, which is sharing grant funds with a statewide coalition of universities and community colleges.

Sept. 28, 2018 -- Cynthia Matson's time at Wichita State has shaped the student she is today. The business major is vice president of the Barton International Group, a student run consulting firm through the Barton School of Business at WSU.

Sept. 27, 2018 - Zane Storlie, a junior majoring in computer science at Wichita State, has received a $10,000 a year scholarship from High Touch, a Wichita technology company. The scholarship is renewable and honors the memory of Pat Riddle, a WSU alumna and former High Touch employee.

Sept. 27, 2018 -- After months of anticipation, Fuzzy's Taco Shop confirmed plans to open a restaurant in Braeburn Square, the new retail complex at Wichita State University. Next summer Fuzzy's will join Starbucks and the Shocker Store in the development near 21st and Oliver.

Sept. 26, 2018 - Dean Elledge, program director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Wichita State, has won the Dentist of the Year award from the Wichita District Dental Society.

Wichita State alum Ty Tabing is a "place-maker" and, starting with Braeburn Square, he wants to use the university's academic and arts activities to invite people to campus.

Sept. 21, 2018 -- The WSU Board of Trustees met Friday, Sept. 21, and were given a report on the campus from John Tomblin, vice president of research and technology transfer.

Sept. 12, 2018 - The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic at Wichita State hosted the first Summer Literacy Camp for children.

Wichita State's Professional Edge Program gives students the tools to lead and participate in meetings, choose a mentor and identify their work-skill.

Aug. 24, 2018 -- Butler Community College business administration students who graduate with an associate degree are now able to seamlessly transfer into Wichita State University's W. Frank Barton School of Business.

Aug. 16, 2018 -- WSU Old Town gets Wichita State and WSU Tech students and faculty together in labs, classrooms and break rooms to learn and take advantage of combined resources.

Aug. 9, 2018 - Wichita State University set a new record for total research and development awards in fiscal year 2018 with a total of $104.5 million, increasing awards by more than $14 million and achieving gains in most funded departments.
